A Baby!

We're pregnant!!

So many people have asked, "Was it a surprise?" I think it's like a surprise anytime anyone finds out they are pregnant. SOOOO many things have to go right to get this process started. But to answer plainly - we weren't doing anything to stop it. :) I think this picture pretty well explains that I needed some convincing that I was really pregnant:

That's right. That's 5 tests. Some of them may look negative, but that darn line was so faint on some of them - then the digital said YES and so I decided I should go tell Chris.

We had been out of town all weekend on a youth group trip when I was suspecting that I might be pregnant, and since we were gone all weekend, Chris needed to stay at church Sunday when we got home to work on some homework. I decided to bring him dinner and giving him the news. I told him and he said .......... "Nuh uh. You're not pregnant!" So - a little disbelief on his side, too. I think I had him convinced by the time I left the church and there was plenty of proof when he got home to look at!

Next - it was telling out parents. We were headed to OKC the next weekend anyway, so we thought it would be a perfect time to stop and tell Chris's parents in Wichita Falls on the way - but since we were about to bust, we had my parents over for dinner that Thursday night to tell them. I think I did a pretty good job of hiding why we were having them over. We've gotten a bunch of "new" furniture from my grandmothers who have passed and mom hasn't been over to see it all yet. You've already seen the China cabinet in this post, and hopefully I'll get pics up of the bed and bedroom soon.

We were gonna have chili, so I went ahead and set the bowls out on the table with this secret message inside:

Of course, they were ecstatic and we gave them clean bowls to eat out of. And since picture is worth a thousand words, this is how we told Chris's family:

We waited and waited to tell anyone else for what seemed like forever. I went to the doctor once and they confirmed my pregnancy, but said I should still wait to tell people. Then we went again and got to see our little Ro-bean and hear the heart beat at 141 little beats per minute! They say Ro-bean is coming around November 2!! We're so excited!
