Eight Months!

My sweet baby boy has purely delighted us over this last month.  Our good and gracious God has shown Chris and I the joys of parenthood through the miracle of a happy, healthy, growing baby boy.  Every single baby is a miracle - I remember thinking that when I was pregnant.  Of all the billions of things that have to line up perfectly to produce ten fingers, ten toes, four heart chambers, two brain hemispheres, one umbilical cord...It's a miracle that any of us are here!  We are just so thankful that God has blessed us with this specific little Griffin Wayne Robey.

This month, Griffin has been into EVERYTHING.  Seriously INto everything.  Our lives as we know them have changed forever.  We have a mobile baby and he gets faster every single day!  And he is SO curious.  I love that about Griffin.  He is just as boy as boy can be.  I prayed for that.  I have four nephews and they are all 100% boy and I think it's great.  I envision staying up late mopping mud off of the floor and cleaning boogers off of the walls.  Little boys are supposed to be like that and that's why people say there is a special place in heaven for the mothers of little boys. :)

Here's a little list of Griffin's accomplishments by the time he turned eight months old:
- 18 month size clothes for one piece stuff, anything that's two pieces is 12 month.
- size 3 diapers
- spent the day with just Yogi and then the night with Yogi and BooBoo and BooBoo fed him Gerber puffs!  He has been loving them since then.  The "cheetos" are his favorite.
- Griffin became officially weaned.  I was a little sad about it, but he was a fighter and a biter.  He was way too busy to be nursing only able to look one direction.  He much preferred drinking from a bottle, so whether I liked it and was ready or not, he was.  So that was it!
- Nana and Papa came to visit again!
- Griffin learned "purposeful play" (the PT in me) with some of his toys.  He knows which buttons to push, cause and effect, etc, etc,.... :)
- He swam for the first time!  Griffin did the waterpark at Yogi and BooBoo's and then went swimming with mommy on 6/3 and again with Daddy on 6/9.  Turns out he LOVES it!
- Griffin is a super pro at his head butt trick and now he has another one!  Waving!  It is the sweetest thing.  He started doing it at the first of June, but we weren't sure that was what he was doing.  Turns out he was.  He waved at everyone one day at VBS this week.  Stay tuned for a video.
- Griffin found ba-ba-ba-ba-ba finally.  I've been listening and listening for some consonant sounds besides mmmm because I haven't been hearing any, and then he found B!   I thing I hear a Ga every now and then, too.
- Griffin started CRAWLING!   6/7/11 - and Chris and I both got to see it!
- We also let Griffin eat table food.  He had cheesy chicken spaghetti with broccoli and really, really liked it.  We've given him little pinches of mashed potatoes or a green bean here and there, but this was the first time I cut up food in tiny pieces and put it on his high chair tray.  I'm pretty sure he got as much of it on him and on the floor (or more) than he did in his little tummy, but he had fun doing it and it allowed us to have a family meal for the first time!
- I still call Griffin "G," "Griffers," "Baby," and "Boogi."  Daddy calls Griffin "Lil Man," "Buddy," and just plain ol' Griffin!
- Griffin has been cutting his molars the second half of this month and it's been a doosy.  He's run a little fever and everything.  He hasn't been taking as many bottles, I think because it hurts to suck.  Griffin has basically cut out one of his bottle feedings in the day.... only to replace it with a bottle at about 2:00am.  I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to do here.  I have been just getting up and feeding him because he seems really hungry and like he's hurting.  Am I supposed to just let him cry it out even when I know he's cutting molars and eating less in the day?  Any advice, opinions, suggestions?

So, as you can tell, it's been a busy month in the Robey household!  This video is just too funny, I think.  My sister, Rachel, said we may not have to teach Griffin the word "no" - we can just say "ewwww!"  This goes on for a while...Most of you know my philosophy on this stuff:  It's for my memory, so let me be one of "those" moms! ;)

And here are some of my favorite pictures from this month:
