Griffin is so cute.
I haven't done a great job this month of keeping track of his cuteness, but this is my attempt to "treasure these things in my heart."
- Griffin calls hippos "bops" and boots "bups"
- He's talking more and more and getting really good about saying "help" or "puh puh" when he wants something instead of grunting first and making me remind him to be polite.
- Griffin can can show you his muscles. He says "errrrrr" and puts his hands in fists. So. Cute.
- Griffin now walks into daycare and doesn't cry. He also does this with the nursery at church. Crazy!
- Griffin spent a lot of time with my parents this month for a lot of different reasons. He goes and gets eggs, picks blackberries, and plays in the dirt there. My mom asked him if he wanted eggs for breakfast and he said, "Boc Boc Boc." !!!! Isn't that awesome? He says that when he sees pictures of chickens, but I just thought it was so cool that he could make the connection of going to get the eggs and seeing chickens to my mom saying it the next day.
- Griffin still LOVES trains. A lot. A whole, whole, lot.
- Griffin learned to sing his first song. A Britney Spears song. Seriously. Thank you Aunt RaRa and Wellsbrothers for cultivating a love of KidsBop into Griffin. He sings the "Wuh-oh oh oh oh oh oh oh-o" par to of her "Dance until the wold ends song." (I'm not sure what the real name of it is.)
- Griffin is really in to performing dramatic falls. He takes off running, stops suddenly, then throws himself onto the ground and sometimes rolls. Then he looks around for applause for his performance. I love it.
- Griffin is still loving to read. His new favorite is a book called "The Circus Ship" that his cousin Lucas told us about.
- Griffin is starting to not be rocked to sleep. He finishes his milk, sits up and points to his bed. I lay him down and say, "Night, night, Griffin. Give me a kiss." He sits up, lays one on me, and lays back down. I stand there stunned and then walk out of the room. I cannot believe my baby will do this.
- Griffin really likes to put things in the trash can. Most of the time he's a helper by doing this, but sometimes he throws away keys, phones, etc....
- Griffin opens doors. He's been doing this a while, but it was like he would do it and then forget that he could. Now he does it all. the. time. Scary.
- Griffin loves to sit in the drivers seat of my car. Nearly every time we get out of it. He begs and stands at the closed door saying, "puh puh puh puh" (please). He'll sit there and push every button he can find and turn the wheel for every - well, like 20 min, which is a long time in my book.
- Griffin loves to wear my glasses
- Griffin loves to wrestle his daddy.
- Griffin is in time out a lot. ;) Well, more than last month. ;)
- Griffin learned to hit! Yea! (ha!)
- He calls Yogi "La La La" (you have to imagine him sticking his tongue in and out of his mouth.)
- Griffin can put his shoes - not always on the right feet, but he can.
- He is
finally starting to want to build things and put them together. I know this is my fault because I taught him it is fun to knock things down, but I'm glad he's seeing the other side of it now. He builds a little would block train we have and builds with some large cardboard blocks. He does still like to knock things down, though. :)
And I'm super late on posting this...the picture is super late, too. I took this this morning "not caring" what it turned out like, just wanting to get it done:
