22 Months

22 Months

(there will be some pictures in this, but more in the next post.  i just want to get something posted.)

Where’s my baby!?  Griffin goes and stays the night with my parents occasionally and I don’t know what they do to him, but he grows about an inch each time.  He is getting SO BIG.

This month has been delightful.  We are definitely in the terrible/terrific twos.  One minute we are rolling on the floor laughing with our little prince and the next Chris and I are arguing with our eyes over whose mutated genes are causing this monstrous behavior.  We are all growing during this process or raising a child.... :)

Griffin still loves trains.  Loves, loves, loves them.  He likes cars and trucks and points them out wherever he sees them - everywhere.  He loves his book The Circus Ship.  We read it - seriously - 2-3 times a day.  He points out all the 15 animals, knows all their names and sounds and motions, has songs for them.  It’s really.

We love being outside and as is expected, we love sticks.  We call them “hi-yas” (like HI-YA, I will chop you with my sword.)  Griffin climbs our fence, all the way up.  He climbs ladders and rock climbing walls.  His sweat is muddy and his feet stink.  He gets little dirt crusted boogers around his nose.  It’s w-o-n-d-e-r-f-u-l.  We have a boy.

Oh - and did I mention, too, that he come in my bathroom while I’m getting ready and digs out all my make up brushes and lines them up on the floor?  Speaking of my boy....  He does however “hi-ya” them into the bathtub or occasionally brush his hair with them.

Griffin tells us when he has to go poop.  Of course, he poops in his diaper first, but then he sits on the potty, gets paper, wipes, and flushes.  It’s really cute.  If only we could get the timing down of actually pooping in the potty...

Dot-dot is another favorite past time.  This is coloring or drawing, but G calls it dot dot and he’s excellent. :)  He adds cute little stickers, that I think, are a nice touch.

Griffin always has a color sheet or some sort of craft after the nursery at church or after school and he is SO proud of it.  He wants to show everyone.  It makes me think he must actually be helping with it!

We still love Winnie the Pooh (Poopb).

Griffin’s language is blossoming.  He’s adding two and three words together.  He says “pweez” now instead of “pa pa pa pa.”  I think he kind of knows the color blue and orange.  He still refuses to say the word “down” and will only say up.  It is so strange!  He also refuses to repeat me when we are counting.  I know he can repeat multiple words in a row, but he won’t repeat “one, two, three.”  He must know is math nerd mom is dying to do some multiplication with him and so he is prolonging this as long as possible. ;)

Chris has taught Griffin to “blow it up” when he knuckles some one.  It’s cute when we can get him to do it.

Griffin is kind of learning about sharing.  He still screams when someone touches his toys, but is usually pretty obedient about trying to trade them or moving on to something else after he gets his initial scream out.

Enjoy the pictures!  Griffin Wayne, you delight us!

There are lots more pics to come, I just had to get something up!!

He seriously built this!!
