15 MONTHS (1/15/12)

Sorry folks.  All the pictures are first in this post.  I'm desperate to get it posted.  The facts are down at the bottom, and as always, already completely dated.  I WILL get the next one posted on time!!!!

Here's my 15 month old baby:

"Griffin, sit here and smile!"  (See above)  Story. of. my. life.  Right here.

Oh!  There it is !

We pull out pillows and my old home health blow up trampoline one night and G had a blast roughing around with his daddy!

Mickey Mouse is a good chillin' pal

This picture is symbolic.  We put our goldfish in a tank outside and put tropical fish  in G's tank.  He LOVES them.  And crazily enough, the goldfish are both still living in the tank outside, freezes and all.  Way to go, Howard and Leonard!

Isn't he a cutie!!

Boo Boo loving having her two youngest babies in her lap...with a book....all is well

"You can't catch me!"

Griffin and Bonnie at their first stay - just the two of them - at Yogi and BooBoo's.  I think Griffin played the older cousin roll well, from what I hear. ;)

Griffin and Lucas - wishing they hadn't begged so much to go outside!  It was cold!

Mmmmm...Yogurt and bananas!

Griffin and Lucas on the morning Lucas flew back to Scotland

Isn't this hillarious!?  This is Griffin on the way home from church one Sunday.   Church completely wears him out .  It was like he was too tired to even close his eyes!

Cool dude with spiked hair....

Don't they look thrilled to be taking a picture? ;)

"eeeeeeeeesh!"
15 months:

STATS:
Size 7 shoe
size 4 diaper
18-24 month clothes
26.2 pounds - 50th percentile
33 1/8 inches tall - 95th percentile
head circumference - 90th percentile

--LOVES to play...Griffin is so active.  I know everyone says this about their little toddlers, but it is certainly true of mine.

--Griffin puts his face down in the water in the bathtub and blows bubbles

--He also likes to play the mommy-turns-the-drain-to-let-the-water-out-but-I’m-gonna-turn-it-back-game....It’s loads of fun. :)

--Griffin says: tch (touch), shoe, dog, duck, uh-oh, eeeesh (cheese), eeeeese (please), mamma, dada, fsh (fish).  I think he’s saying cat and juice, but not sure.  It’s not a lot of words, but he can identify TONS of stuff.  He has many, many different stuffed animals.  I play games with him and tell him the name of a stuffed animal.  Then hours later I say, “Go get Panda.” - and he does!  I love it!

--Griffin LOVES to play rough.  He loves to go fast.  He loves it when Chris wrestles with him and throws him around (on pillows, of course!)  Loves to turn himself upside down.

--He’s a climbing dude!

--Griffin has developed the skill of squeezing himself in to tiny places.  He loves to go sit in Ollee’s bed or get inside cooking pots and boxes.

--Griffin went to see ICE with his Nana and Papa and his cousin.  We had a really good time.  Griffin - we still cannot go anywhere without someone stopping and commenting on how completely beautiful you are.  It’s “those eyes” they say!

--Griffin had a lovely Christmas.  He got a roller coaster, a rock’n’roll Elmo, books, puzzles, movies, stuffed animals, and loads more.  What a blessed little guy!

--Griffin has perfected up and down the stairs on his FEET, with NO hands at Yogi and BooBoo’s house.

--Griffin has graduated to a booster chair.  He completely looses it and throws fits when we sit him in his high chair.  He wants to be big and eat at the table with the rest of us instead of from a silly ol’ tray, I guess.  Anyway, life is getting much better with this dude in a booster chair instead of screaming in his high chair!

--Griffin has started wanting bigger pieces of things when he eats now, too.  He realizes that he’s got quite a good set of teeth and likes to bite off of large pieces instead of me cutting up smaller pieces....we’ll see how that goes....

--Griffin is still going to the library with Aunt Rachel and Jojo.  She says he loves it there and he’s starting to participate in the music parade they do after the puppet show each week!

--Griffin has started waving more often and blowing kisses.  He is still very picky about who receives them and often he will wave as soon as we turn around to go instead of waving at the person.  He’s quite the stinker.  (I wrote this in the middle of the month.  Just last Sunday he was waving to EVERYONE all during the sermon.  It was so funny.  We had people laughing at him all over!)

--It’s funny, because it seems he waves the most to strangers.  He will even wave and say “hi!” to a stranger, but hardly anyone we ask him to say hi to....

--Griffin understands SO MUCH of what we say.  A good friend of mine started saying that her little one started understanding so much about this age.  It’s really amazing!  We call Griffin’s blanket Bear and he will go get Bear when we ask him to.  He can go get cars when we ask him.  He can go sit in his chair when we ask...  He will give an item back to us if we ask.....most of the time. ;)

We love you G and treasure away all these special moments in our hearts!

Christmas in Pictures: Part III - just realized this never made it up!

Then after we celebrated Christmas at our house and relaxed a little bit, we headed to Wichita Falls...

We made Jenny and Jeremy some "redneck wine glasses" to take back to Scotland.

Griffin got a 4 wheeler from Nana and Papa too!

Chis got a new bike rack!  He's very excited!  Love that face...

Big hug from Lucas to Nana

Griffin loved his Elmo from Nana and Papa

Lucas has it figured out!  Make the little guy work for you!

the cousins had a great time!!

Say cheese!! (1/13/12)

Griffin learned to "say cheese" today with Joey at Aunt RaRa's.  It's the absolute cutest thing! You're so smart, Griffin!!

Christmas in Pictures: Part II

After Yogi and BooBoos, we went home and spent Christmas Eve and Christmas morning at our own house:

Griffin had fun playing his new piano!

He also had fun sitting in his chair and watching Alvin and the Chipmunks

Griffin was a good boy and sat out his cookies and milk for Santa!

Oops!  He snitched some of Santa's cookie!

Christmas Morning!  Chris got Griffin when he woke up and here is Griffin walking into the living room to see what Santa brought....

What!!?? A Roller Coaster!!!!!

Griffin was excited to try it right then!  I hope I get the video of it on here soon!

And Santa left the Rock and Roll Elmo....can you tell he was excited!?

and a T-rex pillow pet he threw fits over everytime we were in Kohl's

See - Griffin kinda help open the presents...

Yikes!  This is the mess with just one kid!

And here's my cute running around with his Santa diapers and hand-me-down boots.  Love that little boy, and love Christmas!

ICE at the Gaylord Texan

Chris's parents took us to see ICE again this year.  It was super fun, but I must admit: I was "that" mom.  "is it too cold for my baby?"
"my baby already has a cold..."

blah blah blah.

Yes, it was really cold, and yes, Griffin already had a cough and runny nose (which did end up needing a steroid to treat) but I think I didn't do a great job of enjoying it.

Better luck next time, Lydia.

Here are the few pics we got.  They say not to take your cameras in because they can freeze!

Griffin and Daddy in their parkas

THe big red ice dragon from Shrek

Griffin liked touching the ice even though he was FREEZING!

Christmas in Pictures: Part I

And so begins the Christmas celebrations:

December 23rd, we ALL went to Yogi and BooBoo's.  I wish the following pictures were in some sort of order, but I'm jut gonna do captions.  I really feel like I'm doing good to get these on here period.
 :)
Kelley, Bret, Ira, and Bonnie chilling on Christmas Eve Eve

BooBoo and G

Boo Boo, Aunt Kelley and Griffin going to feed Charra

The Wells Family had an Elf on The Shelf that followed them to Yogi and BooBoo's.  The Elf, I believe Jack is his name, strung toilet paper across the hall and in front of the door so the boys couldn't peek at the Christmas tree in the morning!  Griffin just wanted to tear it all down.  In this picture, everyone is trying to fit under the blanket, as is the Spies family tradition.

Dad is spinning the grandkids around under the blanket to get them dizzy before setting them free to unwrap presents or stockings

There they go!

Griffin still wasn't quite sure what to do.  He's trying to give his present back to Josiah!

He's helping me open his new baby grand piano!

A new pull the flap Little Critter book from BooBoo and Yogi!  Griffin love Little Critter!

Thanks, Yogi and BooBoo for the Lion Scentsy Buddy!

This picture is very important.  This is Griffin's inaugural quarter growing ear harvesting event.  See, Yogi has the magical ability to pull quarters out of little boy's ears.

This year, Yogi got all the grandkids the cutest piggy banks to put all their quarters in.  Griffin's was a pig that looks like a baseball.

Isn't my niece the cutest!!??

Griffin and Bonnie playing together.

And Griffin's actually happy about it!

We had a wonderful Christmas Eve Eve and Christmas Eve with the ENTIRE family at Yogi and BooBoos.  Then we went on to our home to have Christmas Eve and Christmas morning with just the three of us......
