So, here we go at sixteen months... I have a feeling we will soon be stopping the monthly photos. They are getting...well...dangerous. Here's the process:
What? Oh you want that in your mouth? Sure. Looks safe. Now, please just sit there and look cute. |
Great! You look so cute, but could you leave the sign taped to the chair? |
Pleeeease, Griffin...... |
Pretty please? |
(just a close up so you can see how easy it is for this kid to get his way. we are in BIG trouble.) |
Great! Close enough. I can read the sign, I can see his face...but I'll try once more to get him to smile.... |
Whoa! Wait a minute! Sit down, sit down, sit down!! |
and, okay. we're done. putting down the camera before I clean up a busted head.... |
So, there ya go folks. A little fast of the monthly photo process. Now, here's Griffin at sixteen months:
Griffin just keeps on adding more and more words. Here’s our list of words that are pretty consistent:
fish
duck
momma
dadda
dog
cheese
please (well, sometimes....)
juice
up
hot dog
uh oh
touch
shoe
boot? maybe
all done - one time
this
go
nan (banana)
hot - so I've heard
He signs “more” (sometimes)
He smacks his lips when he wants something to eat or drink.
But Griffin really seems to understand EVERYTHING. He knows to run to the bathroom when I say bath. He knows we are about to go outside when I either am making coffee or putting on a coat. He knows we are leaving when I start to put on his socks and shoes. When Chris says, "Let's go feed the fish!" Griffin grabs both our hands and runs to his room. He starts to pull at the drawer on the stand where the food is. Chris usually helps him open it. Then Griffin reaches in and gets the food and starts shaking it. Chris lifts him up and helps him put it in. Then Chris tell him to put the food away an the does and then shuts the drawer. It's pretty fun. Griffin is pretty good at feeding Ollee, too. :)
Griffin LOVES to read. Any time i say, you wanna go get a book, he gets so excited and runs to his shelves to pick something.
He’s starting to try and work puzzles.
He’s started painting and dot-dotting this month. It's not super-skilled just yet, but we are getting there.
He's using a fork more. - not a lot, but more. ;)
Griffin has become much more friendly suddenly. He will give anyone a high five or knuckles and is much easier to get a wave or a blown kiss from.
Speaking of kisses! He kisses on the lips now!
Griffin has started the “where Griffin’s nose, mouth, feet, ears, eyes, mouth?” game. He love to find his belly button, too - or even better, find Daddy's belly button!
Without a doubt, Griffin RUNS.
I still call Griffin his same ol tried and true names - G, Booger, Boogi, Baby, Griffin, Gigabyte....
Griffin is SO good and putting on his footie pajamas. He really knows how to help!
He's starting to actually LIKE brushing his teeth again.
Here are a few - yeah right, a ton - of pics from the month. The first few are a tribute to my red-neck shirtless baby:
laundry helper... |
still shirtless |
and still shirtless... |
Griffin holding his own banana! |
notice the paint... ;) |
Griffin with my roommates and their babies! |
Griffin and daddy watching The Lion King... an oldie but goodie. And that lasted about.....3 minutes. :) |
LOVE those stuffed animals. He knows what almost all of them are, too! |
At BooBoo and Yogi's sitting in Joey's lap! |
Playing with his buddy Joey in matching pajamas! |
Yay for feeding fish! (The tank is not really green. I don't know what it is about taking pictures of it that makes it look green!) |
Daddy and Griffin making a huge mess and being just plain silly. |
Caught this that same night when Chris was making G laugh. |
again, thanks to Daddy |
Griffin is still cracking up at Chris. Chris was through Griffin's blanket, Bear, at the basketball hoop in G's room....funny what little guys think is so funny! |
