21 Months

I don't know why I can't muster the energy to write this month.  I guess Griffin as worn it all out of me. What a blessing to have such an active, healthy little boy that I just can't seem to stay awake in the evening. :)

Take a look at this grin:

Griffin has - as always - been a delight this month.  He is talking up a storm!  Towards the end of the month he started sentences of the "I wants..." only they sound like this: I-own-uce (I want juice) or I-own-jew jews (I want choo choos.)  Then, when prompted, the sentence ends with "puh puh puh" or please. :)  He LOVES to play with his cousins.  He gives kisses and hugs like a pro.  He tells Ollee to "go home."  It's so funny.  He has developed a LOVE for Winnie the Pooh.  He says, "poop!  poop!"  It's really cute.  Griffin is just like his daddy in that he really likes to "tinker" with things and figure out how they work.  Griffin is very observant.  He notices the deer way back in our back yard hidden in the  trees, birds really far away, the sounds of birds really far away, he notices where we are in the car and starts saying the name of who we are going to see or what we are going to do as we get closer... He loves to watch wheels spin.  He pushes his trains or trucks around on the floor and watches the wheels turn forward and backward.  I got him a train that the wheels are actually attached to another gear that turns another wheel on top of the train.  I really think he figured out how all of that work!  He watched one wheel turn the other.  I'm his super biased mom, but - he's so smart! ;)  Griffin LOVES to play "sneak up" games.  He squats down and walks saying "shh shh" but he starts giggling too hard before he finally finds who he's sneaking up on.  We play this almost every night when Chris is home.  Griffin loves to sit in his chair, he loves milk, juice, and water, though he doesn't know he loves water. :)   Griffin has really enjoyed swimming this month.  I've taken him to the beach in Granbury a few times and it has been really fun.  He is fearless in the water - so I've got enough fear for the both of us!  Griffin loves books.  He's getting to where he is liking his Bible stories more.  They have more words and less pictures, but he always reaches for it now and says "bup" (bible).  We use the Sally Loyd Jones Jesus Storybook Bible and I feel like I get my own devotional time when we read it.  It's good.

Here are a few of my favorite pics from the month:
I decided to attempt "slurpee in the car" - it went okay. :)

My little birdie picking at his food on the floor...he's so funny about this.

Chris was gone for a week at camp so Griffin and I took pictures for him.

this picture cracks me up.  I feel like he looks like a little Yoda or something.

Sunday afternoon blanket fort!

Griffin LOVED the 4th of July parade.  IT was really sweet seeing how excited he gets with the fire trucks, tractors and horses.

this picture is not great, but you can tell there was a certain grandma delighted to have her babies watch the parade with her ;)

transition to the toddler bed - and if you notice what is gross in this picture, don't judge me.    i've never seen it look as bad as it does in this camera lighting.  yikes!

We are so thankful for this precious miracle God has blessed us with to grow and nurture.  Father, give us the boldness to talk about you as walk along the road, as we lie down, and as we get up so Griffin will have you written on the door frame of his heart.   We love you so much, Griffin Wayne!  You bring us so much pleasure and so much happiness and we treasure every moment with you!
